KeySniffer Vendor Response - Kensington

July 26, 2016

Kensington has been working with Bastille Threat Research Team regarding its findings of vulnerabilities related to one of our products — the Kensington Pro Fit® Wireless Desktop Set, K72324. We are happy to report that, to our knowledge, no security incidents have been reported to us since this product originally launched in 2005. However, we take all security measures very seriously and appreciate the efforts of the Bastille Research team in alerting us to this potential vulnerability. We have taken all necessary measures to close any security gaps and ensure the privacy of users. Kensington has released a firmware update that includes AES encryption, which has been adopted by the U.S. government and is now widely used across the globe. Products with the new firmware will be updated with a new part number, K72324USA. If you are the owner of the affected product and have any concerns, Kensington recommends you reach out to our Technical support team. Technical support contact information can be found on the Kensington.com website.
